Tollywood blockbuster film Srimanthudu which is written and directed by Koratala Siva took Mahesh Babu's career to another level, this movie was unlike his earlier films and the star was appreciated by both the audience and critics.

And now, news is that, some Bollywood producers want to remake it. The buzz is that Salman Khan or Hrithik Roshan could be approached for Mahesh Babu's role.

Srimanthudu was made on a budget of 400-700 million, and its all over box office collection is 2.0 billion. Apparently, David Dhawan saw the film but felt Varun was too young to play this role.

Besides co-producing the film, Mahesh Babu played the film's protagonist with Shruti Haasan playing the female lead. Jagapati Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Sampath Raj, Sukanya and Harish Uthaman appear in supporting roles.

Selvandhan had a simultaneous worldwide release on 7 August 2015 in around 2500 screens and opened to positive critical reception.
